Re #2: yes to all of your questions (although more common would probably be, "She passed me by again").

Re #3: I don't think that has quite the same meaning. To sideline someone means to take someone out of the game, to put him or her behind the sidelines. To bypass so., however, means to not even put that person into the game in the first place, to skip that person.
