    Gesucht ist die offizielle Bezeichnung für Zusatzzeichen an Verkehrsschildern, also diejenigen Zeichen unter dem eigentlichen Verkehrsschild, die dessen Bedeutung präzisieren, z.B.:

    According to the Highway Code, that would be "qualifying plates".
    It does sound a bit odd and I've never heard it, but maybe it'll start you off on the right track.
