    Plant ist plausibler als Kraftwerk. Im Deutschen entspricht eine plant auf einem balcony eher einer Energieanlage.

    Auf Deutsch heißt es nun mal "Balkonkraftwerk".

    Deutsch kann eben manchmal auch ganz griffig und witzig sein.

    Werbesprache ist fast immer griffig und gleichzeitig realitätsfremd.

    Wir wollen hier aber nicht Werbung machen, sondern seriös über "balkonanlage" - Google Suche reden, von der man genauso sagen kann, dass sie auf Deutsch nun mal so heißt.

    "Balcony power plant" sounds very awkward in my ears, I would never call this a "plant". The article above provides it as a direct translation of the German term, but uses "balcony solar", "balcony solar panels", "plug-in solar panels" and even "solar balconies" to describe the systems. I could imagine using "plug-in solar panels for balconies" the first time, if all of that information is important, and then switching to "balcony solar panels".

    Not sure if this is just AE, or just me, but I would only call it a "kit" until I had set it up. I might buy a kit, but once it is put together, I'd call it something else.

    re #8 "... or just me,...": Nein, da gebe ich dir Recht, ich habe da zu sehr auf den Shop-Seiten geschaut, da verkaufen die natürlich die Anlagen bevor sie zusammengebaut werden.

    Der in #6 verlinkte Artikel enthält auch einige spannende und auch sachdienliche Informationen.


    So heißt es:

    Wenn die Liebe zum Balkonkraftwerk bisher hauptsächlich eine von Deutschland ausgehende Liebe war, ist vielleicht auch der Begriff hierzulande geprägt worden und andere müssen den Begriff in ihren Sprachen erst neu prägen?


    Und, wie #6 und #7 schon haben anklingen lassen, verwendet der Guardian-Artikel viele Begriffe. Ich würde zu balcony solar power, balcony solar panels oder am ehesten zu solar balcony/balconies tendieren.
