Linux ist ein kostenloses Betriebssystem, quasi ein Konkurrenzprodukt zu Windows.

@Hein Mück: Genau genommen ist Linux ein Open-Source Betriebssystem, was bedeutet, dass der Quellcode jedem zur Verfügung steht. Das bedeutet nicht zwingend, dass das Betriebssystem gratis ist.

Bei einem "Googlefight" zwischen "irrespective of" und "regardless of" ist letzteres der klare Sieger.
