    Hi Beatrice,
I'm Irish and I've never heard "Your means design the end" are you sure you're quoting correctly ?

SuggestionIt's not the destination, it's the journey.

Another possibility (even though that sounds like the slogan from a car ad or something).

'Der Weg ist das Ziel' is actually an ad slogan used by BMW motocycles if I recall it right. It means driving for the sake of it.

@Hansego: The phrase is attributed to Confutius and to Goethe.

Der Satz von Konfuzius heißt üblicherweise: “The way is the goal.”

“Anyone can find the switch after the lights are on.”

Well, since we've ended up talking about Confucius here ... I bought a birthday card yesterday that said "I never said all that shit" - Confucius 😄😄 (I bought it because I liked it - I don't know who I'll send it to yet 😁😁😁)

bzw. "Roads were made for journeys, not destinations" (wie in #15, sehe ich gerade)

"The way is the goal." hört sich für meine Ohren denglisch an, wird aber hier und da ernsthaft vertreten.

Was sagen die native speakers dazu, würde mich mal interessieren!
