    B-Ware

    Context/ examples
Es gibt im deutschen für Neuware den Begriff A-Ware; synonym bezeichnet man fehlerhafte Neuware als B-Ware. Was heißt "B-Ware" auf englisch?

    Vielen Dank

This makes possible a classification of marketing into: Class A, Merchandise for Manufacture. Class B, Merchandise for Equipment or Large-Scale Consumption. Class C, Merchandise for Individual or Household Consumption.

Class A, B, and C seems to have a different connotation. (see above)

This guitar is a factory "B" stock item. It has a small blemish on it ... We are eBay powersellers, overstock merchandise liquidators and live auctioneers. ...

    And what I have seen/heard for 'B-ware' is 'selected seconds' . . .

(that was pottery of the Swansea-Pottery in Lancashire) . . .

@A-flow: what I meant with "as is" merchandise is that's what stores call their potentially slightly defective merchandise which they sell "as is."

@ A-flow: Tell them, in German it's 'zweite Wahl',

    in English, it's 'selected seconds' . . .

B-Stock items are factory recertified products or open box items that cannot be sold as new.

Minor cosmetic blemishes are possible but hardly noticeable in most cases. With the low, low price you'll pay, who cares!

And we sell our B-Stock with the very same warranty as a new unit!

Daddy, I can say that the phrase "selected seconds" conveys absolutely no meaning to a native American-English speaker. Somebody's translations of "factory recertified" and "open box" clearly denote the condition; "selected seconds" is not used in any business setting.
