I would not write assistant....rather acting head of controlling or deputy head of controlling

"assistant" klingt leider immer etwas nach Teamassistenz. Ich habe auf Visitenkarten schon gesehen "second vice president". Das klingt m.E. besser.

Das ist auch eine Frage, wie bei Eurer Firma die Visitenkarten aufgebaut sind.

Hier ein Beispiel

>>Titel<< (Assistant Department Head)

I agree about avoiding "assistant" - it doesn't sound senior enough. I disagree with the suggstion of "acting head", because this implies the person is temporarily head of department (kommissarisch).

I'd go for deputy head of controlling.
