Daddy hat recht. Der Fisch heißt übrigens "Köhler". Da er mit diesem Namen keine öffentliche Akzeptanz gewonnen hätte, dachte sich die Fischindustrie den heute gängigen, ansprechenden, weil an Lachs erinnernden Namen aus.

Absolutely spoiled for choice. So to repeat myself (?), if you were to read a menu, which one of them would you be likely to recognise? I wouldn't know what any of them are. In fact I can't remember seeing any of them on a menu in an English restaurant. Which brings me back to my original problem.....Maria

Naja, Daddy, da sind Lachse und Seelachse doch ein bißchen näher verwandt. Ich frage mich aber wirklich, warum die Leute nicht in LEo nachschauen, ehe sie überflüssige Fäden starten oder falsche Antworten geben.

Seems that only the fish labelled by LEO as "heller Seelachs" has made it to English speaking menus.
