    wondering if you have permission to do something. z.b., "if it's ok with you, ich gehe draussen." or something. i would usually use "wenn es dir recht ist" but there's got to be something better.

    I'd also go for "Wenn Du nichts dagegen hast gehe ich jetzt hinaus" (not "draussen" = outside). It can be used in all sorts of situations.

    I don't think I would use "Wenn es Dir Recht ist ..." for trivial things like leaving the room. It's slightly more formal

    "Wenn es Dir nichts ausmacht/Wenn es Dich nicht stört" would be used if you stay with the other person and start a potentially disturbing activity.
