    Britzelgefühl

    Sources

From an article about this autistic math genius. Sorry, it's from Der Spiegel.
I've heard of brutzeln before, but what on Earth is a Britzelgefühl?

Isn't that the word that was used as a base for the word-play/name "Bizzl" (fizzy drink)??

    I would go for "tingle"

    "tingle" is just perfect.

Just for the record, another meaning of "britzeln" is the sound produced by a short-circuit in open air, especially if sparks and arcs keep forming erratically. Any electrician would immediately know what you mean and would use the word in a sense quite different from "brutzeln" which is more like "schmoren", a more or less constant sound with a much lower frequency and probably no light emission at all.
