Secondly, however, the "friendlier" word is pronounced just the way it's written: niggah. The first one, the insult, would have the infamous "hot-potato" "R" at the end, like digger, figure. trigger, etc. If you've never heard either, you probably wouldn't know the difference, but here in the States it's a matter of cautious discrepancy. And for a white person, either word is a no-no. I have black friends but would rather be shot in the head than call one of them "ma niggah" (although I have done it jokingly, under the "proper" circumstances). |
