    It depends on whether the foil is on the inside or the outside.

    You could line a crate, (indeed you probably would), but if we are talking about "einschweißen" then "encapsulated" is closer, or even "foil-wrapped"

    @ Walker. Ah, that was the other word that was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't remember it! (Shrink-wrapped)

    Anyway, to answer the question, lined is if the plastic, foil etc is on the inside, Shrink-wrapped, foil-wrapped, encapsulated etc is if the entire crate is wrapped in something.
