When do I use which? When I'm enumerating statements as in the example above, which one am I to chose; the adjective or adverb? I'd say the adverb since it specifies a whole sentence, but firstly sounds weird to me.

    first/second = adjective

    firstly/secondly = adverb

Is it stylistically alright if I say:
First of all, ...., secondly, ....

Either one is okay, but the adjective is more common in AE. The most important thing is not to mix them. First . . . second . . . OR Firstly . . . secondly . . .
    BUT NOT first . . . secondly . . . (or vice versa)

@#3, No. Stick with one form. If you say/write "First of all" then you have to say/write "second", but I would just write first unless I wanted to emphasize the importance or priority of the first statement.
