"Chief cook and bottle washer" is one phrase that is sometimes used somewhat humorously (so it would probably need to be put in quotes).

I'm not sure if it is limited to BE, and it might not be very modern.


"Jack of all trades" possibly describes the skills you need.

In U.K. koennte man evtl. "good all-rounder sagen," wenn der Ausdruck nicht schon zu veraltet ist.

Sonst koenntest Du's umschreiben: "someone who is good at everything," "who can tackle any assignment," "who likes challenges," u.dgl.

(Hier haben wir bestimmt einen Fall, wo andere bessere Einfaelle haben werden.)

"wertfrei" würde ich "Faktotum" benutzen

kris, "factotum" waere leider nicht wertfrei da es sich eher auf Diener bezieht. Zudem ist es eine ziemlich veraltetes Wort in Englisch. "Do-all" wuerde auch nicht allgemein verstaendlich sein.

"General dogsbody"
"girl Friday"
"handyman"

sind auch nicht passend, aus schon angegebenen Gruenden.

"Jack of all trades" bezieht sich in erster Linie auf Handwerker. Aus diesem Grunde, und auch weil es meist im Spruch "jack of all trades, master of none" vorkommt, wirkt es heutzutage doch leicht abwertend.

I think all-rounder is a good solution.

We often use the term gopher as she is constantly sent to do one thing or another
(send her out for coffee) go for coffee etc but it implies a lower grade job i.e menial tasks

... sondern müssen sich auf die Kernaufgaben konzentrieren können....
