    Staubwedel

    hello!

I am looking for a good translation for Staubwedel(in reference to a swiffer not a feather duster). It is not a feather duster really but german refer to is as a Staubwedel.

I thought of just using the product name... but is doesn't fit when you are actually trying to describe what a swiffer is to someone who hasn't used one before. What is it called then??

    Any ideas??

swiffer is a modern/other form of a mop

    also naß

It's really just a 'duster', though you get a 'Swiffer' duster as well

The yellow thing on a stick the german site calls Staubwedel appears as 'duster' for US customers.

A duster is a generic term for an item used for dusting.

A feather duster is just one design, a duster can just as well be a soft cloth used dry.

Just look at the product descriptions on Swiffer's English language sites and contrast with German product descriptions

it's a disposable duster or a disposable dusting wand, isn't it?
My problem with mop is that a mop (generally) has a pole and is used on the floor
