Eigentlich mehr im optischen als akustischen Konetxt - Vielleicht kann ein native speaker sagen, ob es geht...?

I am a big fan of dead rooms for acoustic and voice though. If you want to hear part of a small room, the slapback is too fast IMO to sound usable.

Unless you want that effect, I have never cared for it. And a verb plug on top of natural reverb always sounds washy to me.

good acoustic playing. I don't like the vocals, sounds washy and shy,

and lots of other music forums run by native speakers.

I get 77 google hits for "sounds washy." Maybe you would call that "lots," I sure wouldn't. :-)

I think the term he is looking for is "drowned out" (setzt sich in der Aufnahme nicht durch).

The guitars were drowned out by the blaring horn section.
