Grannnum classification refers to the "placental maturity".
It progresses from grade 0 to grade 3 through the course of a normal pregnancy. Calcification is not seen in grade 0 but is progressively visible through grades 1-3. In English literature, often only the "placental calcification" is referred to.

But doesn't the "Vorderwand" refer to the placental position on the anterior wall?

=> "Placenta: anterior wall, Grannum grade 0"
