    Yes, I prefer 'as long as you live under my roof'. If the Irish will forgive my use of the expression, 'feet under my table'sounds a bit Irish*,after all.while your feet are under the table,you are unlikely to move far from the table.Compare 'You should get down on your knees and thank the Good Lord that you are still on your feet.(Meaning well and healthy).
    *Irish in this sense simply means English as the Irish might be alleged to use it.
