@the kat: A link to the domain of an English-speaking country (.uk, .us, .au etc.) would be more convincing and conclusive than a .com-link.

@the kat: müsste es nicht heissen: "When one door closes, another one opens" ?

All I wanted to point out was that it's a quote, and the quote is "when a door closes...", not "whenever". And that this quote is so well known that it has been parodied (see second link).

@dude: The same goes for you . A link to the selective domain of an English-speaking country (.uk, .us, .au etc.) is much more convincing and conclusive. You will then see that the "whenever" suggestion is limited to a few hit while "when" gives thousands.

@Lost: please note that a .com link tends to refer to US google.

@dude: How do you then explain the discrepancy in the proportion of hits relating to the two alternatives (.us and .com respectively)? If your assumption was correct, the domains would have similar results.

@Lost: here's a little experiment for you - simply type "www.google.us" into your web browser's address field, hit "enter" and see what happens.

I can tell you that it'll take you directly to ... www.google.com :-)
