    In der Tat kommt das vom Poolbillard, bei dem man das Spiel durch korrektes Versenken der 8 gewinnt. Ein "scratch" wiederum ist das versehentliche Versenken der weißen Kugel, was ein Foul ist und beim Spiel auf die 8 einem Spielverlust gleichkommt.
