    In Austria, you have to get a "Zeitbestätigung" when dealing with the authorities or for medical consultation during working hours. It is a an official sheet of paper confirming the time used up there. If you deliver it to your employer, the absence is not deducted from your overtime pool but considered as working hours.

    Eine Zeitbestätigung gibt's aber auch z.B. von einer Behörde bei einem Amtsweg oder vom Gericht bei einer Zeugenladung. "medical" greift daher zu kurz.
