soweit es um Vereinskassenprüfer geht ist dies das naheliegend
Audit liegt recht nahe am Wirtschaftsprüfer, der selbst geprüft bzw. zertifiziert ist.
Davon sind Vereinskassenprüfer i.d.R. weit entfernt.

Not revisor. I actually thought revisor was not even an English word, but it turns out to be a rare alternative spelling of reviser, meaning one who revises a text. Revisor is thus a false friend.
In the few English clubs and societies I've belonged to, the person who looks after the money day to day has always been called the treasurer. And once a year, the finances were checked by an auditor, who was never a member of the club or society concerned. One of the surprises I experienced in Swiss Vereinsleben, was that the auditors were drawn from the membership of the Verein.
Muret-Sanders (Langenscheidt) gibt für "Kassenprüfer" (cash) auditor.
