    I got an email from a canadien guy: "...for sure it's a big thing. Everybody and his grandmother are going to be there."

    Could it be another expression for "every fool is aware of..." or something similar. Or is it more like slang? Therefore you wouldn't recommend me to use it in "serious" publication??

    there are many variations on that term, but they all mean, like #1, JEDER wird dort sein, und sie werden andere mitbringen, evtl. die ganze Verwandtschaft. Also=eine ganz grosse Party. It's not really slang (?), well maybe ... it's a colloquialism.

    What do you mean with your question ... "serious" publication". I don't understand. Peace
