Zentralversorgung und Maximalversorgung sind die Leistungsstufen eines Krankenhauses (the capacity level of a hospital which includes parametres such hospital size, number of patient beds and departments etc.).
"Basic care / basic service" bze "Maximum care / maximum service" klingt furchtbar und trifft nicht den gesamten Umfang der jeweiligen Leistungsstufe. Kennt Ihr englische Pendants, damit ich diese Begriffe nicht umschreiben muss? Any English equivalents available?

Basic medical care & maximum medical care sind gebräuchlich.

Es gibt dann noch den Begriff "full-service"

    Beispiel:
"Bristol Hospital in Connecticut is a full-service health care institution providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care"

I don't think that's right, Jocheng. A primary care trust in England provides inpatient care.

Thanks John,...the UK definitions on health care don't really make sense for a short translation of the German word "Maximalversorgung":

Primary care: a first point of consultation for all patients within the health care system.

Secondary care: the health care services provided by medical specialists and other health professionals who generally do not have first contact with patients.

Tertiary care: specialized consultative health care, usually for inpatients and on referral from a primary or secondary health professional, in a facility that has personnel and facilities for advanced medical investigation and treatment.
