    comparing the results for "felled area" and "Schlagflur" on Google pictures makes we wonder, if the terms really mean the same thing.

    I think "Schlagflur" refers to the plants growing on a "felled area".

    Sorry, Wilma - forgot to add the "flora" to felled-area...

    Depending on the rest of your text, it could also perhaps be "natural regeneration"...just saw judex's suggestion, also a nice one :-)
