Eine sexuelle Konnotation (die du wahrscheinlich vermutest) sehe ich nicht.

Für "Mit jemandem warm werden" gilt Entsprechendes: Es bedeutet ganz neutral, mit jemandem näher bekannt werden, eine engere vertrauensvolle Beziehung aufbauen, Distanz abbauen. Eine "schmutzige" / sexuelle Komponente sehe ich nicht.

"warmer Bruder" might be eindeutig and zweifelsfrei To people who already know the word, but for an English speaker who only has an intermediate knowledge of German it is not so eindeutig... if someone translates it literally and understands it as "warm brother," it is possible for them to miss interpret it to mean someone with a warm personality, do you understand what I mean now?
