The context is a diary entry, a 16-year-old is writing about a girl he likes and that he wanted to dance with her, but she had to leave. Then he wrote in the diary "Jedenfalls ich werde sie mir warm halten."

Is this a double meaning for something like "I will by all means have her keep me warm [one day]" or is it an idiom for something a little more dirty?

okay, I was just checking because accidentally the other day one of my friends used the phrase "warmer Bruder" thinking it meant a kind, gentle type of person and I couldn't help laughing! So I just wanted to check if there was another connotation with the word "warm" in diesem Kontext...

So vielleicht, "I will by all means keep in touch with her."

"warmer Bruder" = ein schwuler (homosexueller) Mann. Hier ist die sexuelle Bedeutung eindeutig und zweifelsfrei.

I know that "warmer Bruder" is a seemingly derogatory term for a homosexual, which is why I laughed when my friend used it to try and explain a man who she thought had a warm personality… I was just wondering in this specific case if the use of the word "warm" had any connotations because I know that it certainly has connotations in the phrase "warmer Bruder."

But you have clarified that already so thank you!

Just quickly, I see where you have misunderstood me... "warmer Bruder" might be eindeutig and zweifelsfrei To people who already know the word, but for an English speaker who only has an intermediate knowledge of German it is not so eindeutig... if someone translates it literally and understands it as "warm brother," it is possible for them to miss interpret it to mean someone with a warm personality, do you understand what I mean now? Being idiomatic it's not so simple to outsiders what some phrases and words mean
