either...or... is exclusive. Sowohl als auch is translated "as well as".

"sowohl...als auch" is "both...and",
"entweder...oder" is "either...or".

Native speaker say:
either or = entwerder oder
neither nor = keines von beiden
both and = beide von zweien

Well as long as we're talking logic circuits we might as well clarify that "either...or..." is an XOR gate, not an OR gate.

¶ An OR gate usually corresponds to simple "or" in English: "they're predicting rain this Wednesday or Thursday". When "or" means XOR then context makes the disjunction clear, and there is an understood "either" which is omitted:

¶ "I'll probably enroll [either] in Harvard or MIT next year."
