    This is used in an accounting system for
    a) a notification of a parts delivery = Lieferschein
    b) a notification of warranty service work performed on a vehicle.
    Unfortunately I need to have one word for both contexts. "Avis" does sound really weird to me.

    "Notice" by itself will probably be enough to cover all areas if you really only want one term. "Avis" is French for notice.
