| Comment | Yes, you often hear "six foot tall". But "six feet tall" is correct.
My suggestion is to stick to the correct version and let native speakers use the incorrect version if they want to (or if they don't know any better). |

| Comment | lowkee, I wonder whether you heard precisely "I am six foot tall." I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that, or anything similar.
But it _would_ be acceptable to say "he is a six foot tall man" or "it is a six foot long board" or an "18 foot by 24 foot room", etc. |

| Comment | als Brite würde ich sagen: "he's six foot".
"Six foot tall" erzielt auch ganz viele Google-Treffer, obwohl es falsch sein mag, aber da bin ich nicht überzeugt! |

| Comment | Well, I'm five foot nine, and I assure that that is the usual colloquial way of expressing one's height, at least in southern England. |

| Comment | Merriam-Webster says of "foot":
3 : any of various units of length based on the length of the human foot; especially : a unit equal to 1/3 yard and comprising 12 inches -- plural foot used between a number and a noun <a 10-foot pole> -- plural feet or foot used between a number and an adjective <6 feet tall> -- |

| Comment | archfarchnad But what would you personally say "I'm five feet seven" or "I'm five foot seven" ?? I am willing to stand corrected, but feet still sounds weird |

| Comment | I'd say "I'm five foot nine" and *not* "I'm five feet nine". But I would say *either* "I'm six feet tall" or "I'm six foot tall".
Note that although Webster's only gives one example, it says both can be used with adjectives. |
