Es ist im Nordosten Indiens, in Ost-Bangladesch, in den chinesischen Provinzen Yunnan und Sichuan sowie im Norden der Länder Myanmar, Thailand, Laos und Vietnam beheimatet, wo es halboffene, busch- und gehölzbestandene Landschaften in mittleren Höhenlagen besiedelt. Die Art ist nicht bedroht.
