Lykanthropie (von griechisch ''lýkos'' = Wolf und ''ánthr"pos'' = Mensch) bezeichnet die Verwandlung eines Menschen in einen Werwolf (d.h. "Mann-Wolf"), aber auch in andere Raubtiere wie Bären, Löwen oder Leoparden. Der Begriff wird gelegentlich auch im Zusammenhang mit Vampirismus verwendet.
Als Lykanthropie wird auch die Vorstellung eines Menschen bezeichnet, ein Wolf (oder entsprechend ein anderes Tier) zu sein. Diese galt bis ins 19. Jahrhundert hinein als Geisteskrankheit, die als eine Form der Melancholie begriffen wurde.
