I'm not sure I understand the problem. As w's third example shows, 'Ephesians' is indeed used as the name of the Bible book, more commonly than the long form with 'letter' or 'epistle.' Apparently the same is true in German for 'Epheser,' but doesn't it still need a separate entry marked [Rel.]? And the noun for the people shouldn't be in the plural in the dictionary anyway.

The same is true of all the epistles, so if LEO wants to include all these, all the ones to the townspeople may need several entries. I would include the compound words in -brief, which English speakers might not be aware of. And the standard abbreviations might as well go in too.

Actually, it would be helpful to include all the books of the Bible and their abbreviations. Some of them already seem to be in, but I didn't want to check every single one.

Der Brief an die Epheser ist gar nicht von mir, und wer immer da im ersten Vers meinen Namen als Autor hineingeschrieben hat, der hat mir den Brief untergeschoben.

Na, wenn ich den Schlingel erwische! Dann muss die christliche Geduld und Langmut mal kurz pausieren.

Ebenso wenig sind von mir der Brief an die Kolosser, der zweite Brief an die Thessalonicher, die beiden Briefe an Timotheus (ich habe den Kerl im starken Verdacht, dass er die Briefe an sich selbst geschrieben hat) und der Brief an Titus.

Von mir sind
- der Brief an die Römer (mein Hauptwerk, auf das ich stolz bin)
- beide Briefe an die Korinther
- der Brief an die Galater
- der Brief an die Philipper
- der erste Brief an die Thessalonicher (mein Erstling)

Wer's nicht glaubt: der Fachausdruck lautet "paulinische Pseudepigraphie" und ist jedem Theologen wohlbekannt.
