    I'm getting totally confused with my tenses here...does this sound right(ish)? (if not the most beautiful of sentences...)

    Da sind wohl beide Sätze nicht ganz korrekt :

    yes, I think that's what confusing me. It's from an artist biography (one of several) - which is being translated to accompany the release of a CD.

    I'd avoid "already during" - to my ear it sounds like a Germanism.
    What about:

    @6 Not really. In the context, you need "since then", and it really needs to be at the start of the sentence.
