ROUGH ORDER OF MAGNITUDE PROPOSAL = Richtpreisangebot
FIRM-FIXED PRICE PROPOSAL = Festpreisangebot

http://goliath.ecnext.com/coms2/gi_0198-65805...The first thing is to understand the end user and the details of their business. That includes everything from their products to understanding how their budgeting process works. With that understood, it's time to put together a "rough order of magnitude" proposal. That will include a preliminary selection of equipment, suggested pricing, and a timetable for a system that can solve their problem. If the supplier and end user see eye to eye, the next step is move to a firm-fixed price proposal. [...] The firm-fixed price proposal includes a technical proposal and a business proposal. The technical proposal details the level of performance that the system has to deliver. That requires more extensive system engineering, software engineering, and controls than a pre-proposal. With a complex system, simulation is often used to prove that.
