da guckt man unschuldig botanische Begriffe nach (to deadhead flowers) und stößt auf ein richtiges Schätzchen...
Ist das schon obs. oder noch im Gebrauch? Rare vielleicht? Wissen die nach 1980 Geborenen noch, wer the Greatful Dead waren, geschweige denn, was ein Deadhead ist? Kommt der Begriff permanent in Zeitungsartikeln, Fernsehbeiträgen und Unterhaltungen mit Amerikanerinnen / Briten / Deutschen vor?
Schön jedenfalls, ein richtiger "blast from the past".

Spinatwachtel, Well, I really liked the Grateful Dead, but didn't realize I was a "deadhead" - and no, my children wouldn't know them (Mommy didn't purchase their records :-))

Sorry, maybe it would have been nicer of me to address the original post. I think it is still a well-known expression, but then, I am 40+ and have not lived in the US for over 20 years! Maybe I can do a little research on my next trip; ask around among nieces and nephews and their friends.
(PS: The joke isn't very nice, but I did hear it from a self-proclaimed Deadhead, so it must be ok to tell it...)
