oder sagst Du auf deutsch: meine Eltern und mich?
Auf englisch wird "I" groß geschrieben, übrigens ganz im Gegensatz zu dem deutschen "ich".

In this case, gut feeling tells me that “My parents and I” would probably be acceptable. But normally picture captions must use an emphatic "me": “Helen and me”, “Me and Jim in Majorca”, etc.

    @Werner
We've told you before, more than once: English pronouns are NOT used the same way as German onesin picture captions. And don't suggest writing "myself" instead - you know that's wrong too.

I must say I disagree with Steven on this one, and agree with Werner for once.

I would caption a picture "My parents and I".

Agree with #2 for picture captions (as long as there isn't a "real" sentence): Me and my parents

My parents and I as a subect (My parents and I went to the cinema)
My parents and me as an object (He was tinking about my parents and me)
Me and my parents is often used colloquially in the UK but is actually incorrect; I personally tend to use it though, and would probably say it if I was posting a picture of me on a site such as Facebook, because somehow 'my parents and I' sounds a little old-fashioned and posh.

I support Steve UK: My parents and me. ("My parents and I" sounds very stilted; maybe appropriate for a formal job application, or for a grammar textbook, but not for everyday use.)

"Me and my parents" sounds plain ignorant to me.

Re #6 "...because somehow 'my parents and I' sounds a little old-fashioned and posh"

Yes, I agree with that (and had thought about adding it to my post in #5). Somehow, "My parents and me" sounds rather "grand" too, so "me and my parents" is really the only natural option for me in this situation (assuming the words are not part of a "real" sentence). Maybe I'm just not posh enough! :-)

"Me and my parents is often used colloquially in the UK but is actually incorrect..."

The correctness depends on the context (subject/object), as you yourself wrote.

And where are you from, XY?

(This is, That's) my parents and me

    Comment
As a photo caption, 'me' is absolutely correct; in fact, I think to most people anything else would be unusual. The reason is that it's understood to be used like a predicate, analogous to 'That's me' or 'C'est moi.'

However, listing oneself first is indeed less widely accepted.

Please see dulcinea's link in #3 for a slightly longer discussion.

There are also other similar explanations in the archive. If 'I' and 'me' are too short and common to bring useful results, it might help to feed the new beta full-text forum search at tdict

    https://dict.leo.org/forum/alphabeticIndex.ph...

with terms like photo and caption.
