    Well, I am Native German and I can definitely say that "abfreunden" does not exist.

    But unfortunately I cannot give you a German word... I would say "Freundschaft beenden"
    That's what you read on facebook or something

    In der deutschen Version von "Wer-kennt-wen" bekommt man im Menü den Punkt:

    "Ich kenne XY nicht mehr". (I don't know him/her any more).

    But I support RES-can's suggestion. I would say: "XY von der Liste meiner Freunde streichen."
