    Hallo,
    ich möchte "Lösungsansätze" als eine Kapitelüberschrift verwenden.
    LEO schlägt als Übersetzung "methods of resolution" vor.
    Vom Gefühl her trifft diese Übersetzung aber nicht so ganz was ich meine: die "Ansätze" sind noch nicht so ausgearbeitet, daß man sie wirklich Methoden nennen könnte.
    Mit resolution bin ich mir auch nicht so sicher - klingt für mich eher "chemisch", nach auflösen oder so. Jedenfalls nicht abstrakt genug (bei mir geht es um mathematische Lösungen).
    Mir schwebt eher etwas in richtung "approaches" vor - weiß jemand, wie man daraus "LÖSUNGSansätze" machen kann?
    Oder hat vielleicht jemand eine ganz andere Idee?

    Dieser englische Begriff für "Lösungsansätze" wird in vielen wiss. Veröffentlichungen verwendet, auch in der Mathematik (s. URL). Wenn man DEN Lösungsweg gefunden hat, spricht man von "the key for the solution", z. B. "von Koch's work can be said to be the first step on the long road which eventually led to functional analysis, since it provided Fredholm with the key for the solution of his integral equation."

    "Ansatz" is fairly common in English language math and physics literature. The things is that I wouldn't know for sure how to pluralize it. The English plural would be "ansatzes", but you might go with the German. People who know the word know that it is German.

    I'd definitely say that "key to the solution" is more usual than "key of..."
    You'd also say the "key to success", the "key to the city", "key to/of the door", the "key to the back door", the "key to her heart", etc.

    @Reinhard: häh? your example refers to the key of a *selection*.

    i just saw this discussion. i guess the original question didn't really look for a term that suggests to have discovered the ultimate solution, but rather possible ways to solve the problem. therefor, i would maybe go for "proposed solutions" since they may not have been tested yet.

    I agree with Roy, in maths & physics it is a common term. I am not sure about the plural.


    The Oxford Dictionary of English (2nd edition revised):
    ansatz /'ansats/ → noun
    (Mathematics) an assumption about the form of an unknown function which is made in order to facilitate solution of an equation or other problem.
    - ORIGIN 1940s: from German Ansatz ‘approach, attempt’.

    "possible solution" ist kein Ansatz mehr, sondern eine fertige Lösung, die machbar/umsetzbar ist.

    Im Übrigen scheint mir auch "key to a solution" kein "Ansatz" zu sein, der weiter auszuarbeiten wäre, sondern sondern der entscheidene Anstoß für einen Geistesblitz

    Dieses Wörterbuch gibt 2 Möglichkeiten: "methods of resolution" oder als Alternative "initial stages for a solution"

    Habe selbst in meinem Text "first solution approaches" benutzt als "erste Lösungsansätze zu ..."
