Marjut, yes broker=Makler, but you can have an insurance broker, real estate broker, stock broker, etc. It would also depend on which En-speaking audience you are addressing. (BE/AE) (Sorry about the Umlauts - am not at my usual computer - Mac)

An insurance agent is a person authorized by, and on behalf of, an insurer to transact all classes of insurance, except life insurance.
