btw: vollständigkeitshalber ist ein böser Germanismus.
Etwas beser: Der Vollstänigkeit halber
(ist immer noch überkandiedelt).

I'm confused again. If this is in the interest of completeness, why would she say "I will give only very few pieces of information about this special subject." It seems like "vollständigkeitshalber" you'd give all the information available.

Or am I reading this wrong?

Damit meinte ich folgendes: Ich möchte in einer schriftlichen Arbeit ein spezielles Thema vollständigkeitshalber erwähnen, möchte es aber aufs Minimum beschränken, um nicht vom Wesentlichen abzukommen.

I agree as well but, at least in AE, it must be "for THE sake of completeness."
