Habe nochmal nachgedacht. Begriffe wie "consistent behavior" kann man im richtigen, speziellen Kontext vielleicht mit "konsequentes Verhalten" uebersetzen und daraus abgeleitet in diesem Kontext dann auch "consistency" mit "Konsequenz". Das erfordert aber eben einen sehr speziellen Kontext. Als LEO-Eintrag halte ich die Gleichsetzung immer noch fuer falsch.

LEO Eintrag ist richtig.

Im Umgang mit undisziplinierten Schülern muss man Konsequenz zeigen / konsequent handeln.

Aus der Tatsache, dass man im Kontext "konsequent sein" mit "to be consistent" uebersetzen kann, kann man nicht unbedingt ableiten, dass man "Konsequenz" mit "consistency" gleichsetzen kann. Ohne naehere Erklaerung halte ich das zumindest fuer misleading.

Do you mean you can't say:
"When dealing with undisciplined pupils you should act with consistency." ?

Because you are not equating "consistency" with "Konsequenz." You are really equating "to act with consistency" with "mit Konsequenz handeln." The latter is fine, the former is not.

I was just putting the word in a sentence to give it context, because in #2 you were looking for "richtigem, speziellen Kontext".

The word "consistent" does tend to be used more than the word "consistency" in this context, but that does not necessarily mean "consistency" cannot be used with this meaning.
