I am writing to inform you about my dissatisfaction with the service I received recently on a holiday arranged by your company. My complaints fall into three main areas: the transport, the accommodation and the food.

The transport was unreliable throughout the holiday, from our arrival to our departure. First of all, our flight was delayed for twelve hours and the airline has lost one of my suitcases. This was not a really good start into our holiday. Your advertisement claimed that the airport is local, but in fact the airport was 200 km away. You also mentioned in the brochure, that there is a possibility to hire budget cars, but as it turned out the company provides only expensive cars. As result of these problems we have suffered a great deal of stress.

After the exhausting transfer from the airport to the hotel, I was really shocked because the hotel didn’t look like as I had expected. The hotel we were eventually put in was of a greatly inferior quality with none of the attractions, which were mentioned in the advertisement. Your advertisement stated that we stay in a luxury hotel with three swimming-pools, but as it turned out, there was only one swimming pool in the whole hotel area. To make matters worse, this swimming pool was dirty and it was really uninviting to swim. In addition your advertisement failed to mention the fact that the restaurants in the hotel are actually very expensive and not moderately priced as stated. On top of that, the staff in the ‘luxury’ hotel was really scruffy and impolite, it is far away of being helpful.

As the price for this holiday was at the top end of your medium price range, I consider the standard to be very poor and would like compensation to reflect the actual value of the holiday. I enclose photographs which I think show clearly the low standard and specific faults, and look forward to an offer of compensation within 14 days. I would be grateful if you could give me some explanation and offer some form of compensation.

I am writing because I want to complain about our bad arranged holiday by your company. Our holiday departed on the 9 to the 17 of February, our flight reference number was FR7895/12.

One of my problems was the transfer from the airport to our hotel, because in the brochure the journey is advertised as approximately twenty minutes, but in fact it took over an hour!
After that exhausting drive, in the hotel we got the wrong room, because we have booked a twin room and a single room, but we got a three bed room.
The other facilities your offered in your brochure like the outdoor swimming pool wasn’t available aground of anything and the sky bar on the roof was not finished yet, because it is still in construction.

This service was totally unacceptable. We put a lot of money aside to finance this exclusive holiday and I think that we have a right to expect better standards of service in your agency and also in the hotel. I am looking forward to hearing from you in form of some explanation and I hope that you can offer me some form of compensation.

I hope that I am hearing from you soon!
    Best regards.

I went on a holiday, arranged by Getaway Holidays Tours. I’m writing to inform you that I was totally disappointed of the whole trip. Nearly nothing was like I expected!
After a really long flight, which took me over twelve hours, the airline had lost one of my suitcases.
You offered in your brochure, a convenient and comfortable transfer between airport and hotel but the bus was dirty and totally crowded.
After the exhausting transfer from the airport to the hotel, I thought that we arrived at the wrong hotel, because it didn’t looked the same as in your advertisement.
Outside the hotel looked old and filthy and inside the air conditioning didn’t help much.
The beach seemed to be miles away and the few from my balcony didn’t exist.
My small room wasn’t cleaned that much and was stinking horrible.
In addition your advertisement failed to mention the fact that …
To make matters worse, the restaurant was over priced and the food was not really up to the standard I’m normally used to.
On top of that, the staff in your hotel was really scruffy and impolite.
I find I am entitled to expect some form of compensation.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I am writing to inform you about my dissatisfaction I received recently on a fortnight to tour the Norfolk Broads. My family was really looking forward to this trip but now, they will not spend a holiday on a boat again. My complaints apply to an advertisement of the ‘Norwich Newsman’, which ruined the holiday by broken promises.

First of all the advertisement was really appealing and showed promise, but as I turned out it was all fake. After our travelling all day by train we arrived at Oulton Broad, where we collected our cruiser. When we saw the boat for the first time, we were really shocked because the boat’s half is in the water and it was only half the size. This was not a really good start into our holiday and the representative Mr Williams was far away of being helpful. Afterwards my youngest child noticed that the boat had only two bunks, the advertisement claimed something different. To make matters worse, you also promised to offer some provisions, but there was nothing to cook or heat anything up with. Last but not least, the bathroom and the toilet were a joke! As result of these problems we have suffered a great deal of stress.
As the price for this holiday was at the top end of your medium price range, I consider the standard to be very poor and would like compensation or my money back otherwise you will hear from my solicitor. I enclose photographs which I think show clearly the low standard and specific faults, and look forward to an offer of compensation within 14 days. I would be grateful if you could give me some explanation and offer some form of compensation.
