I am writing to inform you about my dissatisfaction I experienced recently on a fortnight tour to Norfolk Broads. My family was very much looking forward to this trip. However, after the experience we made, they will not spend a holiday on a boat again. My complaints refer to an advertisement of the ‘Norwich Newsman’, which ruined the holiday by broken promises.
First of all the advertisement was really appealing and very promising. However, as I it turned out it was just a big lie. After a whole day travelling by train we arrived at Oulton Broad, where we collected our cruiser. When we saw the boat for the first time, we were really shocked because half of the boat was in the water and in addition it was only half the size we expected. This was not a really good start into our holiday and the representative, Mr Williams, was far away of being helpful. Afterwards my youngest child noticed that the boat had only two bunks, the advertisement claimed something different. To make matters even worse, you also promised to offer some provisions, but there was nothing available for cooking or heating anything up. Last but not least, the bathroom and the toilet were ridiculous! As you can imagine, all these problems resulted in a lot of stress. As the price for this holiday was at the top end of your medium price range, I consider the standard to be very poor and would like compensation or my money back, otherwise you will hear from my solicitor. I enclose photographs which I show clearly the low standard and specific faults, and I’m looking forward to an offer of compensation within the next 14 days. I would be grateful if you could give me some explanation and offer some form of compensation
