Grammar

Der 'Past Subjunctive' nach 'it's time', 'it's high time' und 'it's about time'
'unless' und 'if ... not' in einigen Fällen austauschbar
In einigen Fällen sind unless und if … not praktisch austauschbar.
wollen: 'wollte' in idiomatischen Wendungen
Wollen in der Vergangenheitsform wollte usw., hat mehrere idiomatische Verwendungsmöglichkeiten: geht nicht, funktioniert nicht etc., verwendet wird, wird dies im Englischen ausgedrückt durch • wollte usw. dich usw. bitten zu = was / were going to ask you to + Grundform des Verbs • wollte usw. dich usw. fragen, ob = was / were wondering if you usw. • wollte usw. gerade = was / were just going to + Grundform des Verbs; • was / were just about to + Grundform des Verbs • wollte usw. nur = was / were just trying to + Grundform des Verbs
